Guitar tab that lives in your DAW

Write tab next to your tracks in Logic, Ableton Live or any AU/VST3 host, or straight in the browser. Bends, slides, vibrato and harmonics play back the way you wrote them.

Playback

It sounds like the tab reads

Most notation tools play a bend as a wrong note. Notation4DAW sends each bending string on its own MIDI channel, so a bend on the G string never pulls the B string out of tune with it.

Two bars of guitar tab Palm-muted chugs on the low E string, a full bend, a slide, natural harmonics under let ring, and a held note with vibrato. A playhead moves across the bars.
Drawn with the editor's own colours. Every mark is played, not just drawn.
  • Bends and releases

Quarter, half and full bends, pre-bends and releases, with the curve you drew.

  • Slides, scoops, falls

Glides between frets in real pitch, not a jump at the end of the note.

  • Harmonics

Natural, pinch, tapped and semi harmonics, each in its own colour on the staff.

  • Palm mute, let ring

Spans you can see at a glance and hear in the mix.

  • Vibrato

Rendered as pitch bend on the note's own channel.

  • Drum tracks

A Guitar Pro style drum view with note-number entry, on the General MIDI percussion channel.

Plugin & browser

One score, two places to write it

The plugin and the web app are the same editor and open the same .n4d files. Start a riff on the laptop, finish it in the session.

In your DAW

AU & VST3 · macOS

  • Follows the host's transport and tempo, including tempo changes.
  • The score is saved inside your DAW project.
  • Works offline. Nothing loads from the internet.
  • Optional autosave to a .n4d file, plus 20 rotating backups.
  • Each instance keeps its own track order and mix.

In the browser

Nothing to install

  • Plays through the built-in sounds, or out to your MIDI gear.
  • Two tabs can hold two documents without overwriting each other.
  • Local backups every five minutes while you edit.
  • Signed in, every edit syncs to your account.
  • Opens files saved by the plugin, and the other way round.

Collaboration

Share a song with the band

Invite people by email as editors or viewers. When someone saves, your open copy updates in place.

Editor or viewer
Viewers play and read along. You decide, per person, whether they can save a copy or export.
Version history
The last 50 saves, plus the version you first shared, kept for good.
30 days to undo a delete
Deleted songs stay restorable with their history and members.
Your mix stays yours
Track order, volume, mute, solo and zoom are personal. Your solo never changes what the drummer hears.
